The Good, The bad, The Ugly.

The Good, The bad, The Ugly.

Why is it difficult?

I believe we're making a difference. I believe we're putting history right.

Superstar musicians are humans afterall. In Africa, we only want to talk about their good and sweet sides, we want to ignore their weaknesses and failures. We don't want to hear about their exuberance and mistakes,.

Why do all successful people boast about their success alone but prefer to hide or distort their stories of failure.

Is it a crime to have weaknesses?

Is it an abomination to use help from other people?

Known musicians mostly are like that.

We're not Oyinbos.

The success and weaknesses/failures of Michael Jackson whose middle name should be 'Issues'(He had a lot of them) is in public domain, James Brown who had multiple marriages and had cases of domestic abuse on his neck, Elvis Presley, Bob Marley, Whitney Houston, Barry White who had children out of wedlock, Frankie Lymon not to talk of Late Papa Wemba and Koffi Olomide who was arrested at a time for assault and even sentenced for rape.

All that will be made hush-hush in Nigeria and treated with utmost secrecy.

Secrets that only fuel rumours.

Obafemi Awolowo, MKO Abiola, Akintola Ladoke, Ebenezer Obey, Sunny Ade, Jide Kosoko, Adebayo Salami, Baba Sala, Shina Peters and others. All these people had/have weaknesses and had their share of failure too.

Anyway, we'll keep asking questions till we can put together an academic book in which our stories will be kept and told at the same time and  from which the richness of our talents can be best appreciated.

That is the idea behind A Ki Won Dé'lé on Agbaletu. Soon, I'll post the list of those I've spoken to on Agbaletu.

AGBALETU RESUMES BLOGGING TO PROMOTE OLD YORUBA MUSIC.

I'm back to blogging after years of abandoning this blogsite. This time around, I'm more focused on entertainment through writing music-based stories, history and posting of old yoruba songs. This is significant because it marks the 12th Year of Agbaletu on Radio. Watch this space shortly.

Lekinson, Yoruba Movie Actor Dies of Heart Related Illness

Popular Yoruba movie actor Lekan Oladiipo popularly known as Georgio Lekinson Amani has died . He reportedly died of heart-related illness 3 days ago. Another great loss to the yoruba movie industry. Lekinson won the hearts of many movie lovers, especially in the Yoruba movie circle in the early and mid 90's where he acted as an aggrandizer and unrelenting egoist coupled with the manner he calls names of existing and non-existing cities of the world. God rest his soul.
